Fuel efficiency has been outstanding so far. I'm clocking well above what the dealer told me to expect, and that’s with full-time AC. It doesn’t accelerate like a sports car, but I didn’t buy it for that. Very happy with this choice.

I bought the Volkswagen Taos mainly for its size—I needed something compact but not cramped. It does that and more. The turbocharged engine gives it surprising pull on highways, and the cabin is cleverly designed. It’s my daily driver in city traffic, and the fuel economy has been better than expected. Not flashy, but very well thought out.

There are quirks, sure, but I’ve found myself defending this car in conversations more than once. Maintenance hasn’t been a headache at all — one of the few cars that didn’t surprise me at the service center. Fuel economy is reasonable, but I’d recommend getting a service package — parts can be expensive.
