There’s something reassuring about how solid it feels, even after months of daily driving. It doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. What you see is what you get, and that’s refreshing. There’s decent tech inside, though the user interface could use a few updates.

Initially, I just needed a fuel-saver. Turns out, I got a whole lot more than that. The suspension leans a bit on the stiff side, which actually makes it feel more in control when cornering. It’s clearly designed for practical use, but it doesn’t feel cheap.

Owning the 2005 Subaru Impreza has been quite an experience. It is surprisingly reliable, requiring minimal maintenance. However, it could use better noise insulation for a quieter cabin..
