You Saw It Here First: The Jaecoo J5 Just Launched in the UAE

0 580

Compact SUVs are everywhere in the UAE right now. Everyone wants one. Brands keep throwing options at us. Some feel overpriced. Some look like rental fleet leftovers. And then there’s the newly launched Jaecoo J5. It’s new, sharp-looking, and kind of mysterious.

Why? Because Jaecoo hasn’t officially announced anything about it here yet. No local pricing. No confirmed spec sheet. Radio silence. But since you follow the ArabWheels Blog, you already know we don’t wait for press releases.

We got our hands on the specs before they even hit brochures. You’re welcome.

Powertrain

You’ll likely have two options with the Jaecoo J5—petrol or electric. The petrol version comes with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine pushing about 194 hp. Not bad for a compact SUV. It’s paired with a 7-speed DCT. Expect front-wheel drive as standard. AWD will also be available on higher trims.

If you want the silent treatment, the electric version has a 60.9 kilowatt-hour battery. That gives you around 400 kilometres of range on paper. Real-world driving? We’ll see. The electric motor delivers around 208 hp. Quiet but quick.

Interior

This is where the Jaecoo J5 punches above its price class. There’s a 13.2-inch vertical touchscreen that looks straight out of a tech startup. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are built in. Of course. The leather steering wheel feels exquisite.

You get keyless entry, too. No one’s fumbling for a key fob anymore. Above you is a panoramic glass roof, Jaecoo calls the “Moonlight Roof.” It’s massive and double-glazed for sound insulation. The boot gives you 470 litres of space. That’s enough for your gym bag, grocery haul, and still space left over.

And yes, it’s pet-friendly—air filters, a boarding step, and seat extensions for your four-legged companions.

Jaecoo J5 Price UAE

No word on the Jaecoo J5’s UAE pricing yet — just like the specs, it’s all hush-hush for now. But we’re watching closely, and we’ll let you know the moment Jaecoo makes it official.

Conclusion

Jaecoo won’t say much yet. But the Jaecoo J5 is already speaking for itself. It’s good-looking, nicely equipped, and might remind you of a certain British SUV from some angles. Specs may not be official. But we got them. First.

That’s what happens when you follow ArabWheels. Stay tuned for the official specs. But let’s be honest. You’re already ahead of the curve. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
