Sharjah-Oman Bus Route 203 Gets Revised Daily Timings

The SRTA has officially updated the operational schedules for its cross-border Intercity Bus Route 203. This popular Sharjah-Oman bus service connects Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah directly with the major Omani hubs of Sohar and Muscat. 

The route is operated with Oman’s national transport company, Mwasalat, to give international travelers more daily departure options. Commuters using this cross-border network must meet all legal entry requirements before arriving at the international border.

According to official announcements, the daily departures from Al Jubail station follow a three-times-daily timetable. Passengers leaving the emirate can book slots at 6:30 AM, 3:30 PM, or 8:30 PM, depending on their schedule. 

The revised schedule directly addresses growing passenger demand for more reliable regional transit options. The return legs from the Sultanate of Oman are split into distinct service times to accommodate regional commuters. 

Return buses depart from Sohar at 7:00 AM and 1:30 PM, while the Muscat return leg leaves at 3:00 PM.

Passengers must actively verify their travel document status before booking international bus tickets. Passengers should carry a valid passport and confirm Oman entry requirements based on their nationality and residency status before traveling. 

Regional commuters cross through the Khatmat Milaha border station, where border checks can affect the total journey time. The authority strongly advises arriving at the bus terminal well ahead of the scheduled departure times to avoid delays.

The update matters because Route 203 is one of the most practical public transport links between the UAE and Oman. Additional departure options make the Sharjah-Oman bus service more useful for workers, residents, and visitors seeking a lower-cost alternative to driving or flying. 

For cross-border travelers, the biggest benefit is planning flexibility. More daily departures reduce the pressure of relying on a single fixed departure window, especially for passengers traveling between Sharjah, Sohar, and Muscat.
