Salik Recharge Without Account Number: How to Top Up Online
Forgot your Salik account number? Here’s how to check your balance, recharge online and recover your account details using your registered mobile number and vehicle plate.
Lost your Salik account number just when you need to top up before a Dubai commute? If you need to recharge Salik without an account number, you can still add balance online using your registered mobile number and vehicle details.
RTA allows customers to use the mobile number registered with Salik and their vehicle’s plate number for supported services, including retrieving the account number and PIN and recharging the account.
However, the plate number alone may not be enough. Depending on the service, you may also be asked for your registered mobile number, plate code, or other vehicle details.

9 Simple Steps to Recharge Salik Without Your Account Number
If you do not remember your Salik account number, you can use an official Salik or RTA service that supports identification through your registered mobile number and vehicle plate details.
The menu labels can differ by channel, but the basic steps are the same:
- Open an official Salik or RTA recharge service.
- Select the option to recharge your Salik account.
- Choose Plate / Mobile if that option is available.
- Enter the mobile number registered with Salik.
- Enter the requested vehicle plate details.
- Choose your recharge amount or enter a valid voucher where supported.
- Check that the correct Salik account or vehicle is displayed.
- Complete the payment.
- Save the payment confirmation until the new balance appears.
You can also use the official Salik app. RTA says the app allows customers to check their Salik balance, recharge accounts, view registered vehicles, and access recent trip information.
Can You Use a Salik Recharge Voucher?
Yes. Recharge cards and e-vouchers can be used to add credit to your account.
Each card or e-voucher contains a top-up code. This is different from your account number: the voucher code adds credit, while the account number identifies where the balance should be applied.
If you are using a voucher, follow the latest instructions provided with it or through the official Salik service. Avoid relying on old SMS formats or third-party recharge guides, as procedures can change.

Is Salik Recharge by Plate Number Online Free?
No. Using your plate details to identify an account does not make the recharge free.
You still need to pay for the balance you add. “Recharge by plate” simply describes a way to identify the relevant account without manually entering an account number.
Older guides may show outdated toll rates. Dubai introduced variable pricing on 31 January 2025.
Under the variable pricing system, standard weekday charges vary by time of day, with higher rates during peak periods and no toll charge during designated late-night hours.
From 1 June 2026, 5% VAT applies to toll tariffs and tag activation fees. VAT was added to the existing variable tariff structure; the underlying rates did not change.
Common Salik Recharge Mistakes to Avoid
- Do not confuse a recharge voucher code with your Salik account number.
- Do not assume the vehicle plate number alone will always be enough.
- Use the mobile number registered with your Salik account when requested.
- Check the account or vehicle details carefully before making payment.
- Keep your transaction reference until the new balance appears.
- Do not enter card or personal information on unofficial Salik websites.
- Avoid relying on old recharge instructions that may no longer match current Salik services.
