ROX Opens AI-Driven Vehicle Assembly Centre in Abu Dhabi
ROX has begun local production of the ADAMAS at its Advanced AI-Driven Vehicle Assembly Centre in Abu Dhabi, with the first 3 vehicles carrying the ‘Made in the Emirates’ mark. The milestone moves ROX’s Abu Dhabi manufacturing programme into operation.
- Automated Production: The facility’s independent production lines can operate without human intervention.
- Production Capacity Target: ROX plans to scale annual production capacity from 20,000 vehicles in 2027 to 300,000 by 2030, supporting domestic demand and regional and international exports.
- Operation 300Bn Link: ROX and KEZAD say the project could contribute up to 10% toward the UAE’s Operation 300Bn target.
This opening follows a strategic agreement ROX and KEZAD Group signed during the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ forum. The AI-driven vehicle assembly centre follows ROX’s global headquarters in Abu Dhabi and its regional spare-parts hub in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
Autonomous Production and UAE Industrial Impact
The facility expands ROX’s use of AI and automated manufacturing in the UAE. Using KEZAD’s multimodal logistics network, ROX plans to scale production from an initial capacity target of 20,000 vehicles in 2027 toward 300,000 annually by 2030.
| Facility Metric | Details and Targets |
| Location | KEZAD Zone, Abu Dhabi |
| Automation Level | AI-enabled production lines; reported to operate without human intervention |
| Production Target | 20,000-vehicle initial capacity in 2027; 300,000 annually targeted by 2030 |
| Economic Contribution | Potential contribution of up to 10% toward Operation 300Bn, according to ROX and KEZAD |
| First Locally Produced Model | ROX ADAMAS (Made in the Emirates) |
Local AI-driven vehicle assembly gives ROX a production base closer to UAE customers and reduces its reliance on importing fully built vehicles. ROX says the Abu Dhabi facility will support exports to regional and international markets.
Separately, ROX’s regional parts hub in Jebel Ali supports faster parts distribution, including next-day fulfilment within the UAE.
Conclusion
Localising vehicle production brings more of ROX’s supply chain closer to UAE customers. From an industry perspective, the ROX project illustrates the UAE’s push to attract and localise advanced manufacturing.
Whether other manufacturers follow with similar UAE projects remains to be seen. Will local AI-driven vehicle assembly persuade you to choose an emerging brand over established Japanese competitors?
