Nio Debuts Three-Brand Strategy At 2026 Beijing Auto Show

0 107

Nio has officially transitioned from a single-brand startup to a multi-brand automotive group at the Beijing Auto Show. The company has consolidated its 3 distinct brands into one massive exhibition space in Hall E2.

This unified presence features 11 vehicles and serves as a major strategic statement about its future. By presenting Nio, Onvo, and Firefly together, the group aims to showcase a complete global ecosystem.

Nio Maintains the Premium Flagship Standard

The Nio brand is hosting the public debut of the all-new ES9, a flagship luxury SUV. This model is the largest vehicle Nio has ever developed, measuring over 5.3 meters in total length. It features 43 industry-first technologies, including the advanced SkyRide fully active intelligent chassis system.

This hardware allows the vehicle to adjust its ride height in real time to ensure maximum passenger comfort. The flagship message is further supported by the arrival of the 100,000th 3rd-gen ES8 luxury model. To celebrate this production milestone, Nio launched a special Mystic Black edition of the ES8.

The brand continues to focus on the high-end luxury segment by utilizing its 900-volt high-voltage architecture. These technical foundations deliver faster charging and improved efficiency across the entire core vehicle lineup.

Onvo Targets the Mass Market Family Segment

The Onvo brand makes its major show appearance with the 2026 L90, a model designed for family utility. Unlike the premium Nio line, Onvo focuses on balancing high-tech features with more accessible retail pricing. The L90 is the first model to feature Nio’s proprietary in-house Shenji NX9031 automotive chip.

This 5-nanometer processor handles all autonomous driving tasks, improving vertical integration and long-term cost control.

Firefly Brings Personalized Performance to Younger Drivers

The Firefly brand occupies the entry-level position within the booth, focusing on compact vehicles and personalization. The refreshed 2026 Firefly EV features a significant power upgrade, with peak motor output rising to 120 kilowatts.

This allows the compact hatchback to reach 100 km/h in a respectable 7.9 seconds. Firefly is also showcasing 3 officially modified vehicles to highlight the brand’s customization potential.

A Strategic Shift at the Beijing Auto Show

Nio is using its presence at the Beijing Auto Show to project an identity beyond simple manufacturing. The company is presenting its long-term support for the Formula Student series and various environmental projects.

These initiatives are designed to show that Nio is a mature corporate entity with a global vision. The success of this strategy depends on whether visitors find the 3 brands clear and compelling.
