GWM Tank 700 Debuts in the UAE — Here’s What to Know
GWM Tank 700 has officially debuted in the UAE, following its regional unveiling at the GWM Experience event in Dubai. The launch marks a major step in GWM’s “Accelerate Beyond 2026” strategy, strengthening its presence across the Middle East and Africa.
The event brought together media, dealers, and partners to preview the brand’s upcoming product and innovation roadmap.
Note: At the time of writing, GWM UAE has not released official technical specifications for the Tank 700.
Engineered for the Region
The GWM Tank 700 was tested under harsh Middle Eastern conditions. It underwent extensive off-road and heat-resistance testing in Saudi Arabia to ensure durability. With a focus on blending capability with comfort, it targets drivers seeking rugged performance and premium design.
This positions the Tank 700 against competitors like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Ford Bronco. Parker Shi, President of GWM International, noted that the model reflects a region-specific engineering approach.
“This SUV must stay composed in heat and over long distances,” he said. “It’s luxury that must prove itself.”

GWM’s Growth Story in the Middle East
Shi also reflected on GWM’s 28-year journey in the region. From launching its first pickup truck to now operating in over 170 markets, the company has seen steady growth. The Tank sub-brand has become a key part of that expansion. It now sells in over 13 countries, with global sales surpassing 800,000 units.
Thirteen R&D centers and thirteen manufacturing bases worldwide support GWM’s ‘user-first’ philosophy.. A growing community of Tank vehicle owners also plays a role in product feedback and evolution. GWM CTO Nicole Wu emphasized the brand’s multi-powertrain approach, offering gasoline, diesel, and hybrid options tailored to local needs.

Hybrid Tech and Expansion
GWM plans to launch its Hi-4 intelligent 4WD hybrid system in the Middle East and Africa in 2026. This award-winning tech aims to combine electric efficiency with reliable off-road capability. Chief Engineer Richard Zhu said the company adheres to global engineering standards for safety and performance.
GWM launched the Tank 700 in Ghana, where it has received a strong initial reception. Yang Yang, CEO of Zonda Tec Ghana, shared that the vehicle met high demand and positive feedback from early adopters.
Local Support and Partnership
Medhat Shoukry, CEO of Saeed Juma Al Naboodah Group, praised GWM’s innovation and the strength of its regional partnerships. “Our collaboration is built on trust and shared goals,” he said. “We look forward to continued success with GWM in the UAE.”
While specifications for the GWM Tank 700 are still pending, the model’s arrival signals GWM’s growing confidence in the UAE.
Conclusion
The GWM Tank 700 brings a new luxury off-road option to the UAE. Its design and regional testing suggest it’s built with the local environment in mind. If you want to learn more about the GWM Tank 700’s GCC specifications, keep following the Arabwheels Blog.
