Electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Debuts With 1,169 HP to Rival Porsche Taycan

0 129

In a recent global reveal, the electric Mercedes-AMG GT has officially debuted, marking a critical evolutionary step for the brand. This flagship is the first series-production model built entirely on the new dedicated AMG platform.EA electric architecture.

Its technology was previewed by the Concept AMG GT XX, which broke 25 long-distance records at Nardò by covering 40,000 kilometers under continuous load. The production fastback now brings that same track-tested, high-voltage powertrain engineering directly to the premium four-door sedan segment, targeting the Porsche Taycan.

Axial Flux Innovation Delivers Massive Power

The mechanical foundation of this new model uses 3 compact, YASA-developed axial-flux electric motors. 2 dedicated motors independently drive the rear wheels. At the same time, a single unit powers the front axle as a performance booster.

This high-performance configuration allows for variable torque vectoring and delivers up to 1,169 hp of peak system power. To sustain these extreme performance metrics, a Formula 1-inspired 800-volt battery pack uses directly cooled, oil-submerged cylindrical cells.

This specific thermal design ensures consistent, repeatable acceleration without thermal degradation or power drops.

Immersive V8 Acoustics and Elite Agility

Drivers transitioning from internal combustion can utilize the patent-pending AMGFORCE S+ mode to experience a simulated engine note. The system mixes 1,600 real-time sound files to emulate the acoustic behavior of the traditional AMG GT R V8.

This specialized driving profile includes simulated gear-change power interruptions to provide a familiar haptic sensation during heavy acceleration. Standard driving dynamics equipment includes active rear-axle steering and AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL air suspension with semi-active roll stabilization.

The interconnected hydraulic system actively minimizes body lean to optimize stability across sweeping highway bends.

Conclusion

This uncompromising flagship will strongly appeal to affluent UAE buyers upgrading their premium garages. Mercedes-AMG has successfully used extreme engineering to build a vehicle that genuinely honors its high-performance heritage.

A regional launch could follow after global deliveries begin, but Mercedes-Benz Middle East has not confirmed UAE timing. ArabWheels estimates UAE prices range from AED 550,000 for the GT 55 to over AED 730,000 for the GT 63, based on AMG and Taycan competition.

Official local confirmation regarding dealer allocations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi should emerge over the coming months. Would you choose the electric AMG GT over a Porsche Taycan Turbo GT?
