Dubai Travel Time Cut By 54% Between E611 And Umm Al Sheif

Dubai’s RTA has approved a new road project designed to improve connectivity between Umm Al Sheif Street and the E611 highway. Once completed, the project is expected to reduce travel times by up to 54%, saving drivers around 18 minutes per trip. 

The RTA officially approved this major transformation to ease massive gridlock across Dubai. This strategic infrastructure plan will serve hundreds of thousands of daily commuters upon its expected completion.

• The RTA allocated a massive AED 2 billion budget to construct this highly anticipated highway.
• The upcoming multi-level corridor will expand the capacity of the current local road network by 12%.
• Construction teams will build 7 elevated bridges and 8 underpass tunnels along the 12 km route.

Expanding Connectivity to the E611 Corridor

The official project map details how this new bypass links several prominent residential communities across the emirate. Commuters from Dubai Hills and Arabian Ranches will enjoy direct access to eastern commercial and residential zones. 

The blueprint illustrates a continuous path connecting Sheikh Zayed Road directly with the vital outer E611 highway. This layout will efficiently redistribute heavy-vehicle loads away from the perennially congested Al Khail Road.

The extensive highway master plan includes 12 kilometers of dedicated tracks to encourage regional cycling. These safe pathways will connect existing networks from the outer desert dunes of Al Qudra to Jumeirah. 

Drivers will experience safer journeys thanks to modern multi-level interchanges that eliminate hazardous lane merging. RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer confirmed this project aligns directly with the aggressive economic targets of the Dubai masterplan.
