7 Dead on Emirates Road: Dubai Police Warn Against Lane Halts

A devastating multi-vehicle collision on Emirates Road has prompted an urgent highway safety directive from Dubai Police. A minibus carrying passengers crashed into a stationary truck, resulting in 7 fatalities and 9 serious injuries. 

The commercial truck had stopped abruptly in the middle of the active lanes of the highway after a sudden technical failure. Dubai Police traffic patrols immediately rushed to the accident site to regulate traffic flow and clear debris.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan stated that stopping in the middle of the road remains an incredibly dangerous violation. This severe infraction regularly causes catastrophic high-speed accidents, preventable fatalities, and serious injuries across major UAE roads.

The driver and all passengers must exit the vehicle immediately and move to a secure roadside location. If possible, motorists should place a warning triangle behind the stranded vehicle at a highly visible distance. 

Stranded drivers must contact the police immediately so that traffic patrols can secure the breakdown site effectively.
