Did GAC Just Declare War on Boring Cars by Launching 3 New Models?
GAC Motor has officially expanded its electric lineup in the UAE with three new and very different EVs. Each one is engineered for a specific type of driver, from the practical to the bold to the performance-obsessed.
GAC Hyptec HT
The Hyptec HT is GAC’s futuristic take on the modern SUV, blending performance with visual drama.
It’s powered by a 250 kW motor that delivers 335 hp and 430 Nm of torque to all four wheels.
Acceleration is impressive for its size, going from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.

The 83 kWh battery offers up to 600 km range on a full charge. Fast charging can recover 60 % of the battery in only 15 minutes. The Ultra trim features dramatic gull-wing doors, giving the HT unmistakable street presence.
Inside, it offers a premium experience with a 14.6-inch screen and a 22-speaker sound system.
Dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and wireless charging complete the comfort package.
Starting at AED 177,900, it competes with European luxury SUVs at a more accessible price.
GAC Aion ES
The Aion ES is designed for buyers who want to go electric without overpaying for the privilege. With a starting price of AED 99,900, it’s one of the most affordable EVs in its class. It offers a clean, minimalistic design that still feels contemporary and well-proportioned.

The 442 km range is adequate for daily city use and short weekend drives. It’s powered by a 140 kW (187 hp) electric motor, which offers a smooth and efficient ride.
The 0-100 km/h time is around 8.5 seconds, making it quick, but not a sports car. LED headlights, wireless charging, and a straightforward infotainment system come standard. The 8-inch central display is functional but not flashy and minimises distractions.
Interior quality is practical but not cheap, with good materials and solid ergonomics. This car is aimed at first-time EV drivers who value cost, reliability, and simplicity.
GAC Aion Hyper SSR
This is not just a fast car—it’s a full-blown supercar that happens to be electric. The Aion Hyper SSR produces a staggering 1224 hp and 1230 Nm of torque. It reaches 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds, rivalling the quickest EVs ever made.

This performance comes from a 900v electrical system and a 74.69 kWh battery. The range is respectable at 506 km, but let’s be honest—that’s not why anyone’s buying it. The body is made of carbon fibre, with active aerodynamics and racing-grade suspension.
Swedish automotive designer Pontus Fontaeus led the design, and it shows. Inside, it’s a driver-focused space with sharp lines, performance displays, and motorsport materials. While not yet available for purchase in the UAE, the SSR’s local debut signals what’s coming next.
Conclusion
These three launches show that GAC isn’t just experimenting with electric vehicles—it’s investing in multiple customer segments. GAC is aggressively entering the UAE market with affordable sedans, statement SUVs, and hyper-performance showcases.
And this time, they’re not playing catch-up—they’re setting the pace. Thanks for reading till the end. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Keep following the Arabwheels Blog for more content like this.
