657 HP, RWD, 500 Units: Inside the Bentley Continental GT Supersports
The Bentley Continental GT Supersports is here, and it’s unlike any Bentley before it. Bentley stripped this new coupe of hybrid tech, packed it with character, and designed it purely for the driver. With RWD, 657 horsepower, and only 500 units planned, it’s Bentley at its boldest.
Bentley Unleashes a Proper Beast
A twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 powers the Bentley Continental GT Supersports. It sends 657 hp and 800 Nm of torque straight to the rear wheels. That makes this the first-ever RWD Continental GT. It’s also the lightest Bentley in 85 years, weighing just under 2,000 kg.
The car launches from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and tops out at around 310 km/h. Engineers tuned the dual-clutch transmission for quicker shifts. An electronic limited-slip differential and brake-based torque vectoring manage the torque. This isn’t just fast. It’s clever, too.
Built to Corner Like No Bentley Before
Bentley widened the rear track by 16 mm and completely recalibrated the steering and suspension. Twin-chamber dampers and a 48V anti-roll system can quash body roll in just 0.3 seconds. With Trofeo RS tires, the Supersports delivers up to 1.3 g of lateral force, which is 30% more than a GT Speed.
The brakes are monstrous: 440 mm discs with 10-piston calipers up front and 410 mm discs in the rear. There are three drive modes. Touring is for comfort, Bentley mode adds aggression, and Sport mode unleashes full performance.
Form Follows Function, Aggressively
Design-wise, Bentley ditched subtlety. The Supersports gets a massive front splitter, dive planes, carbon sills, and a huge rear wing. Downforce increases by 300 kg compared to the GT Speed. The new roof is made of carbon fiber to lower the weight and the center of gravity.
Inside, it’s all about weight savings. There are only two lightweight bucket seats positioned lower than before. Bentley removed the rear seats, sound insulation, and rear audio system. The result is a cleaner, louder, more focused cabin.
Customers can choose from monotone, dual-tone, or tri-tone color schemes. Leather, Dinamica, and carbon fiber dominate the interior.
Just 500 Supersports Will Be Built
Each Bentley Continental GT Supersports will be individually numbered. Orders open in March 2026, with production starting later that year. Paint options include matte finishes, pinstriped carbon, and special livery themes like “Nightfall” and “Daybreak.”
CEO Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser called the Supersports “a return to Bentley making more extreme cars.” His team fully developed this model from start to finish. They began Project ‘Mildred’ with a secret track mule. It quickly became the most serious Continental GT ever.
Conclusion
The Bentley Continental GT Supersports isn’t just fast. It’s raw, rear-driven, and proudly unfiltered. With just 500 examples coming, it’s a rare chapter in Bentley’s history. What do you think of this bold new Bentley? Share your thoughts in the comments!
