Dubai Parking Update: Discovery Gardens Goes Paid This Week

0 16

Starting January 15, the landscape of Discovery Gardens changes as the community officially shifts to a paid parking model. This strategic update ensures that the limited shared parking spaces remain available for those who truly live there.

The new system uses advanced AI and number plate recognition to monitor all vehicle entries and exits. Residents must activate their eligibility in the PARKONIC+ app at least 5 minutes before entering the zone.

Registration Rules for Discovery Gardens

Every residential unit is entitled to exactly one complimentary permit for a single registered vehicle. If your household operates multiple cars, you must purchase a paid subscription via the official Parkonic mobile application.

According to official figures from Parkonic, failing to register correctly will trigger standard visitor charges for your vehicle.

Category Monthly Rate Quarterly Rate
Standard Vehicle AED 900 (VAT Excl.) AED 2,500 (VAT Excl.)
Electric Vehicle AED 500 (VAT Incl.) AED 1,350 (VAT Incl.)

Managing Visitor Fees and Timing

Visitors to the community will now pay AED 4 per hour during standard hours and AED 6 during peak times. These peak hours typically run from 5:00 PM until midnight, though they start earlier during Ramadan.

To pay for your parking session, you can use the Parkonic app or your Salik account. The system is designed to be ticketless, making the transition smoother for tech-savvy drivers living in Dubai. To ensure you avoid unnecessary fines, please follow these essential steps before the enforcement period begins:

  • Register your vehicle on the Parkonic tenant portal immediately.
  • Upload your valid Ejari or Title Deed for verification.
  • Wait for your unique PIN via email after approval.
  • Download the PARKONIC+ app to activate your residency status.

Conclusion

The introduction of regulated parking marks a significant milestone in improving the daily lives of those in Discovery Gardens. While the change requires an adjustment, the organized system promises better space availability and much less traffic.
