0 14

Safety officials are urging residents to exercise extreme caution following a sudden spike in Biking Accidents across desert terrains. Abu Dhabi Police recently confirmed that they responded to seven separate incidents in the desert over a short period.

These crashes resulted in nine people sustaining injuries that ranged from moderate to serious conditions. Reckless driving and a total disregard for safety requirements remain the primary causes behind these unfortunate events.

Authorities are now calling for a collective effort to prevent off-road adventures from turning into life-altering tragedies.

Strict Safety Measures for Off-Road Riders

According to Brigadier Mahmoud Yousif Al Baloushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, riders must strictly follow established rules to prevent any Biking Accidents. He highlighted that wearing protective gear is not optional but a necessity for survival in the desert.

The police force has outlined several critical safety protocols that every rider must follow before heading into the dunes:

  • Protective Headgear: All riders must wear approved helmets to significantly reduce the risk of fatal head injuries.
  • Appropriate Clothing: Using specialised riding suits and padded gear provides a vital layer of protection during a fall.
  • Mechanical Checks: Ensuring the roadworthiness of tyres and lights is essential for maintaining control on unpredictable sandy tracks.
  • Emergency Kits: Carrying a first-aid kit at all times can provide immediate assistance before professional medical help arrives.

Increased Monitoring and Enforcement

The Al Ain Region police have specifically called on parents to monitor their children during practice sessions to avoid further Biking Accidents. Many of these incidents occur when young riders wander into dangerous territories without proper supervision or technical skill.

Brigadier Al Baloushi confirmed that traffic patrols have now intensified monitoring on both internal and external roads to apprehend violators. By enforcing these laws, the police aim to create a safer environment for all desert biking enthusiasts.

Conclusion

The recent surge in Biking Accidents serves as a stark reminder that the desert requires respect and constant vigilance from every rider. What are your thoughts on the new safety warnings and increased police presence in the desert areas?
